Big changes came in 1974 like the Cobra II and the Stallion appearance group which included styled wheels, blacked out grille, bumpers and body moldings. They also offered a two-toned accent paint with silver, red, white and yellow body colors. They also offered a an All-Black Sport Group option for the Mach 1 and an optional rally package which added minor performance enhancements along with a sportier trim. The Cobra had the black grille, simulated hood scoop, quarter window louvers and brought back the over-the-top racing stripes with matching lower rocker stripes and cobra emblems on the front fenders just like the original 65 = 68 Shelby Mustangs. The Cobra was available with all the engine choices. Full instrumentation was standard. It was an instant success and popular with the public. They made them for only 3 years which makes them rare but not as rare as the King Cobra. That makes it the second most valuable Mustang II. The Cobra II sold 25,259 cars in 1976.
