I am using CJ Pony Parts for prices on their leaf springs. Your options you have 4 leaf spring set which are still an upgrade from your stock pair. You have to remember if they have not been changed out like my 1971 Mach 1 then that’s over 50 years old and they sag, and the bushings are very worn out. Does your 1965-1973 Mustang’s rear end sit lower than the front? If so, your original leaf springs could be worn out and sagging. Replace your original leaf springs with this Pair of CJ Classics 4-Leaf Leaf Springs from CJ Classics right away!
The pair of two (2) leaf springs will help restore your classic pony’s original ride and handling by providing better support to the suspension. These new 4-leaf springs are manufactured to the same factory specs and dimensions so they’ll be direct-fit replacements to the old, rusted or sagging original ones. You’ll love the high-quality reproduction springs, so what are you waiting for? Snag yours now from CJ’s!

Pair of 5-Leaf Stock Height Leaf Springs for all 1965-1973 Mustangs.
Upgrade the handling performance of your Mustang with these heavy-duty 5-leaf rear springs! These springs offer superior road handling over stock, 4-leaf designs.

Features and Benefits:
- Firmer Than Four Link Designs
- Superior Handling
- Direct Fit Upgrade
- Easy Installation
In addition to better handling, these springs also prevent wheel hop and spring wrap up under hard acceleration. These leaf springs are designed for stock ride height.
Tech Tip: You may notice a ride height increase in the rear after installing these springs. After years of use, your original springs have likely sagged, thus lowering your rear ride height. After these new springs are worn-in and used on the road for some time, they will settle at the intended factory ride height.

So which one is best for you?
The leaf is $124 whiles the 5 leaf is $150 dollars and you can see the difference in handling and other features. The only thing I would say would be a drawback is the 5 leaf rearend will sit up higher to its natural stock height. I went with the 5 Leafs. They are a little heavier and makes it slightly harder to put in, with a difference about 5-7 lbs. I got the improved handling 5 Leafs as I am going to be doing just some fun road racing at tracks. Nothing professional but just fun races.
Step 1 to remove the passenger rear you will want to do them one side at a time and jack the car up with all the safety you know you need to do.
Step 2 If you start at the back you will want to remove the U bracket but leave it slightly on and loose.
Step 3 The front of the rear passenger has one long bolt and you will need a long 3/4 inch socket and a wreck for the out bolt. Once you get that almost taken out leave it in as you will want to finish taking the back part off first then take the bold out of the front.
Step 4 Remove the bracket from the U using a air impact otherwise it will take a long time doing it by hand it.
Step 5 You should add a 3/4 inch at least on the rear end while you have it off. remember they say you can keep the 1/4-inch sway bar on since it goes in a different spot but this may be very hard and in way.
Step 6 Use all the new bushing 4 in the back and the busing in the front comes inside the leaf spring already. Then it’s time to put the bracket back on the where the axel is and you will need to jack it up to get the leaf spring up high enough to get the bolts started.
Now once it’s on its on it is time to do the driver side, remember only do one side at a time.
