Mustang II Ghia

The Ghia was a car company started in 1916 in Turin Italy. Initially they made light weight frames for cars like Alfa Romeo. To understand Ghia, I think the best to explain what Ghia luxury European style. Many car firms ordered Ghia styling such as Volkswagen and Chryslers Norseman, Imperial Crown Limousines whose notable owners included Jackie Kennedy and Nelson Rockefeller.

Ford bought Ghia in 1970 and still owns it to this day. They still use the same concept where they sell the style to competitors. I personally have never heard of Ghia until the Mustang II Ghia. It gave American’s a car that had European style with the famous Mustang name. In 1978, the last year of the Mustang II they sold 34,730 which is 18 percent of total sales of all Mustang II’s in 78,
